I love learning new things, taking on new challenges and experimenting with the latest tools.
This is why I like programming and learning different programming languages.
I started learning ADA 95 and Huskell on my freshman year of Computer Science in Spain; since then, I've added to my list of languages several more including C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, PLSQL, PHP and some others...
In my opinion, there is no BEST programming language, each one is good at some things and "not so good" at others, that is why having more than one language to select from is an advantage. Depending on the type of task you want to use and the type of requirements needed for the work, you can select the best fit.
At the moment however, most of my time has been spent in developing web applications and web sites, so web programming languages have been my focus lately, including PHP, Ajax, XHTML, CSS, etc...
